Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for our Romford facility in Essex. You will maintain, repair, and improve production equipment to maximise uptime and efficiency, working Monday to Friday within a busy manufacturing operation.

Applicants should have proven maintenance experience in manufacturing and strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, with the ability to read drawings. Salary is competitive and a positive, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience, including pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and associated machinery.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working on automated production equipment.
• Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent.
• Experience within industrial, chemical, FMCG or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime.
• Complete reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of production equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
