Maintenance Engineer

Location: Blackburn, England, North West

Type: Permanent

Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a rapidly growing company. The role involves working 12-hour shifts, 4 days on and 4 days off, with no Saturday night shifts. The company is located in Blackburn, and commuting is suitable for candidates in the area.

The ideal candidate will have electrical and mechanical knowledge, particularly on food processing machinery. PLC experience is preferred. The company offers training and courses to enhance your skills.

Salary and Shifts

The salary ranges from £42,500 to £47,700, depending on experience and position. Overtime is paid at 1.5x.

Responsibilities

1. Work as part of a small, multi-disciplined engineering team.
2. Undertake Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPMs) on equipment.
3. Perform repairs and record actions to identify recurrent faults.
4. Coordinate with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure the availability of parts.
5. Minimize downtime following machine breakdowns.
6. Develop your skills and knowledge continually.
7. Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
8. Champion H&S and building maintenance as directed.
9. Mentor and coach other engineers to ensure quality service.
10. Contribute to process and practice improvements.
