Job summary

Aspired Talent Ltd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client's busy manufacturing facility in Blackburn. The role involves maintaining production machinery, conveyors and automated equipment, with a focus on reducing downtime through effective PPM and reactive maintenance.

The candidate should have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Maintain and repair production machinery, conveyors, motors and automated equipment.
• Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to minimise downtime.
• Support machinery installations, commissioning and equipment upgrades.
• Work with production teams to maximise machine availability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with Health & Safety procedures.

• Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
• Shift Pattern: 4 On, 4 Off
• Shifts: 2 Earlies / 2 Lates
• Hours: 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift allowance £3k

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure production machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Maintain and repair production machinery, conveyors, motors and automated equipment.
• Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to minimise downtime.
• Support machinery installations, commissioning and equipment upgrades.
• Work closely with production teams to maximise machine availability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with Health & Safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
