Job summary

Rydon Maintenance Ltd is seeking an Electrician / Site Supervisor to cover two care homes in Southend, Essex, on an NHS facilities management contract. The role blends hands-on electrical work with site supervision, offering a varied daily routine and on-call duties.

You will perform reactive and preventative maintenance, supervise contractors, and ensure safety compliance. A full UK driving license and NHS maintenance experience are preferred, with opportunities to progress within Rydon.

Qualifications

• Previous NHS maintenance experience is essential.
• Electrical qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and 18th Edition.
• Testing and Inspection 2391 is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance and repairs including power and lighting faults.
• Planned preventive maintenance (PPMs) such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault-find and complete minor installations.
• Support with general building fabric repairs and document management.
• Site inductions and contractor spot-checks; manage/supervise contractors.
• On-call rota participation with standby allowance and overtime per call out.
