Job summary

MKC Training in Chatham, Kent, seeks a site Maintenance Electrician to join their training facilities. The role involves inspection, testing and repair of electrical machinery, with installation works to support the Royal School of Military Engineering estates.

The ideal candidate has C&G/NVQ/2391 and 18th Edition experience, with knowledge of LV switchgear, motors and control gear. The position is permanent, 37 hours weekly, no weekends.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications: C&G, NVQ, 2391 and 18th Edition IET Regulations.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, LV switchgear, and control gear.
• Proficient in fault finding and using electric portable tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and repair electrical equipment across workshops, offices and classrooms.
• Carry out installation works to support training requirements at MKC Training estates.

Job Title and Location

Unique opportunity for a site Maintenance Electrician to join a prestigious training facility in Chatham, Kent.

Salary: £40K.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, no weekends or shiftwork required. Contract: Permanent.

Duties

The Maintenance Electrician will work on inspection, testing and repair of electrical machinery and equipment used within the technical trade workshops, offices and classrooms and carry out installation works in support of the training requirements covered by MKC Training estates at the Royal School of Military Engineering (including Brompton, Wainscott and Maidstone).

Requirements

Relevant qualifications such as C&G, NVQ, 2391, 18TH Edition IET Regulations.

Experience working with a variety of equipment including:

• AC/DC motor and generators
• Maintenance and operation of LV switchgear
• Control gear and equipment
• Electric portable tools
• Welding machines
• Workshop wiring and distribution systems
• Fault finding on controls and equipment
