Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd seeks a Maintenance Electrician to join the team at HMP Swansea. This full-time temporary role focuses on electrical repairs, testing, maintenance and installations across the site.

You will perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance, with duties including testing and inspecting installations, rewiring where needed, and adhering to wiring regulations, health and safety rules, and out-of-hours rota when required.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or 2394 & 2395 equivalent)
• City & Guilds 2382 Electrical Wiring Regulations
• City & Guilds 2360/2351 Installation Certificate or NVQ equivalent
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Asbestos Awareness Training

Responsibilities

• Testing and inspecting electrical installations in a commercial building
• Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and fault-finding on electrical systems
• Replacing circuits and consumer units
• Undertaking full and partial property rewires
• Delivering electrical repairs and testing within occupied and void housing stock
• Completing work in line with current wiring regulations and company procedures
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and site-specific requirements
• Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required

Domestic Electrician HMP Swansea| Full-Time | Permanent Your New Company A leading provider of maintenance within the secure environment of HMP Swansea is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its growing team.

Working across the establishment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical repairs, testing, maintenance, and installation services.

Your New Role As a Maintenance Electrician and part of the Works Department you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance.

Key duties will include:

• City & Guilds 2377 PAT Testing

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience working as a Domestic Electrician.
• Strong fault-finding and testing abilities.
• Experience carrying out domestic installations and rewires.
• Good understanding of current industry regulations and best practice.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Basic IT literacy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
