Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join Ketton Cement Works. You will maintain complex electrical, control, instrumentation and process systems in a highly automated plant environment, improving reliability and supporting major projects.

Qualified Electrician with IEE 18th Edition and LV/HV experience is essential. You will work with Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLCs, SCADA systems and SAP PM, ensuring safety and efficiency across the site.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with strong industrial maintenance experience.
• IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience working with LV and HV electrical systems.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with SAP PM or equivalent maintenance management system.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist electrical maintenance support across Ketton site.
• Diagnose faults and carry out electrical repairs on plant and site infrastructure.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and condition monitoring.
• Install, test and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
• Support plant improvement and capital projects.
• Work on LV/HV installations, switchgear, transformers and distribution systems.
• Calibrate instrumentation and process control equipment; support safety-critical systems.
• Assist with PLC fault finding and process automation systems.
• Collaborate with operations to improve plant performance and reliability.

This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of electrical, control, instrumentation and process systems in a highly automated industrial environment. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining plant reliability, improving operational performance, and supporting the delivery of major projects that keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will provide specialist electrical maintenance support across the site, ensuring equipment reliability and minimising downtime. Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical repairs across plant and site infrastructure
• Performing planned preventative maintenance and condition monitoring activities
• Installing, testing and commissioning new electrical equipment and systems
• Supporting plant improvement initiatives and capital investment projects
• Working on LV and HV installations, switchgear, transformers and distribution systems
• Maintaining and calibrating instrumentation and process control equipment
• Supporting safety-critical control systems, interlocks and protection systems
• Assisting with PLC fault finding and process automation systems
• Working closely with operational teams to improve plant performance and reliability
• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety, quality and environmental standards

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a highly motivated and technically capable individual with experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, process, quarrying, cement, power generation or similar environment.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Electrician with strong industrial maintenance experience
• IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• Experience working with LV and HV electrical systems
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Experience with motors, drives and variable speed drive technologies
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration systems
• Understanding of electrical safety regulations and inspection regimes
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Knowledge of SAP PM or equivalent maintenance management systems
• Commitment to the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance

• PLC fault-finding experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon or similar)
• SCADA system exposure
• Cement, quarrying, aggregates, manufacturing or heavy industry experience
• Experience supporting plant improvement and capital projects
• HV authorisation or working knowledge of HV systems
