We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for a fully qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team in Peterborough covering three secondary schools in the city. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Key activities:

• Deliver electrical PPM and reactive works across the Peterborough schools PFI contract.
• Apply trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance tasks. This includes testing wiring to fixed electrical installations, emergency lighting, and portable appliances.
• Immediately report and/or make safe any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations and escalate to line management.
• Manage own monthly workload using PDA handheld device and be familiar with Maximo or similar asset management software system.
• Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork.
• Participate in a rolling callout rota.

Skills, qualifications, and experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Electrical discipline, with suitable industry experience; must hold 18th Edition and Test and Inspection certification.
• Possess good interpersonal skills for dealing with both customers and colleagues.
• Driving licence is essential.
• Computer literate, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
• Able to obtain enhanced DBS clearance due to working in the vicinity of children.
