Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join one of the country's leading Facilities Management companies working around Colchester and the surrounding areas: Maldon, Witham & Chelmsford (Kent/Essex).

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and hold electrical qualifications such as NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in electrical installations or maintenance, and 18th edition as a minimum.

The role will involve working as part of a team at various retail sites in the region, undertaking a range of building maintenance duties. The purpose of this role is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant.

Duties:

1. Support other technicians with any major or minor maintenance work.
2. Complete all necessary PPMs and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and as required.
3. Prioritise and complete minor maintenance and repair work to agreed timescales.
4. Ensure all tools and equipment necessary for minor maintenance and repairs are always available and serviceable.
5. Attend other sites within the cluster to carry out work as needed, despite being aligned to a specific area for PPM completion.
6. Work with company and client colleagues to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
7. Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with clients and colleagues.
8. Carry out tasks in accordance with specific KPIs.
9. Monitor and update the Mercury system accurately, ensuring live job updates from you and your team at all times.

Qualifications:

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in electrical installations / parts 1 & 2 or recognized apprenticeship equivalent.
• 18th Edition qualification.

Salary / Package:

• Basic Salary - £36,558 + £2,535 standby payments = £39,093.
• £1,500 Competency Payment after completion of Catering Training, total £40,593.
• Travel time paid after the first 30 minutes at overtime rate.
• Overtime at 1.5x Monday to Friday, 2x on Saturday and Sunday.
• Call Out - 1 in 4 weeks.
