Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to ensure the reliability and performance of production machinery at their Warton site. Qualifications

  • Electrical Apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a relevant electrical discipline needed.
  • Knowledge of AGL systems desirable (training will be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production critical machinery is maintained to maximize reliability.
  • Undertake breakdown and planned workload.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements while working.

Skills

Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Knowledge and experience of 3 phase power systems
Knowledge and experience of electrical / industrial control systems
Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings
Knowledge of instrumentation and control (PID, Temp, Pressure etc)

Education

Electrical Apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Location: Warton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £42,084 depending on skills and experience (with stepped increases over first three years of employment)

Potential for shift work and overtime with premiums

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring that production critical machinery, equipment and facilities at our Warton site is maintained to maximise availability and reliability
  • Undertaking breakdown and planned workload on our Warton site
  • Working safely at all times, complying with health and safety requirements
  • Carrying out planned Maintenance / fault finding / diagnosis and repair of production machinery and equipment
  • Recording details of breakdowns where necessary for future analysis
  • Working in a multi-disciplined group to optimise group performance

Your skills and experiences:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with experience within a relevant electrical discipline
  • Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of 3 phase power systems
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical / industrial control systems and PLC control systems (These were split into two points rather than one)
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control (PID, Temp, Pressure etc)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings
  • Knowledge and experience of AGL( Aeronautical ground lighting) systems (Desirable but training will be provided)

The Operations Maintenance Team:

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and performance of production machinery and equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults whilst taking a pro-active approach to solving any general electrical problems that may occur.
