Job summary

HVAC Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a large university campus in Cardiff. The role covers hands-on maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant, with a 4 on/4 off shift pattern (days and nights), and a salary of £43,306 plus £2,500 shift allowance and overtime opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ3/City & Guilds 3 in Electrical Engineering, 18th Edition, and at least 3 years FM experience in a similar environment.

• Minimum 3 years' FM experience in maintenance
• Strong electrical maintenance background
• Clean room experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults across the site
• Work on a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment
• Ensure all maintenance is completed safely and to a high standard
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime
• Support the wider M&E team with general maintenance requirements
• Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation
• Work effectively as part of the on-site engineering team
• Follow all relevant health & safety and site procedures

Maintenance Electrician

Location: University Campus, Cardiff (CF24 4HQ)

Salary: £43,306 + £2,500 shift allowance + overtime

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, alternating between days and nights - 7am-7pm

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join an established on-site M&E team of 8 at a large university campus. This is a hands-on role covering both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical and mechanical plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults across the site
• Work on a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment
• Ensure all maintenance is completed safely and to a high standard
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime
• Support the wider M&E team with general maintenance requirements
• Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation
• Work effectively as part of the on-site engineering team
• Follow all relevant health & safety and site procedures

About You

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
• 18th Edition qualification
• Minimum 3 years' FM experience, ideally within a similar environment
• Strong electrical maintenance background
• Clean room experience is desirable but not essential
• Comfortable working a rotating days and nights shift pattern
• Able to work independently as well as part of a wider M&E team
