Job summary

Champneys Springs is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant with strong painting and decorating skills to join our team. You will help maintain and present our properties to the highest standards, supporting planned and reactive maintenance under the Maintenance Manager.

This role covers general upkeep, interior and exterior finishes, safe building fabric and guest areas, with focus on look and feel across our estates. A practical, adaptable approach and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong painting and decorating experience (essential).
• Good all-round maintenance knowledge, including basic building, plumbing or electrical work.
• A practical, adaptable approach with a willingness to take on varied tasks
• High attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
• A team player with good communication skills
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ/City & Guilds, Health & Safety) are desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the property.
• Take ownership of painting, decorating and finishing tasks, ensuring a high-quality standard throughout.
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes to minimise disruption to guests.
• Maintain both interior and exterior building fabric, ensuring spaces are safe, functional and visually appealing.
• Support general repairs across plumbing, basic electrical, and building works
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times, including fire safety awareness and hazard reporting.
• Complete required training and support wider team activities as needed
