Job summary

St Philip's Care in the UK is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy residential care home. Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, you will perform maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to keep the home safe, efficient and functional.

The role requires decorating, energy monitoring, health and safety record keeping, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• High standard of DIY including decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• Understanding of heating systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical appliances.
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general maintenance throughout the home.
• Ensure the home remains in good decorative order.
• Keep external areas tidy and well maintained.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Monitor energy consumption and maintain records to minimize costs.
• Uphold health and safety records and test appliances.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home.
