Job summary

St Philip's Care is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day upkeep of our busy residential care home. You will perform general maintenance on the building, services and grounds to keep the home safe, efficient and welcoming.

Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, you will supervise external contractors, monitor energy use, maintain health and safety records and respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work and adaptability to changing tasks.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.
• High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• Understanding of heating systems in a residential setting.
• A basic understanding of electrical appliances used in a care home.
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Ensure all external areas and grounds are tidy and well maintained.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Minimise costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• Upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and items.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home.

Our Residential Care Home is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Operative to assist in the day to day running of a busy and vibrant care establishment.

Reporting to the Care Centre Manager the incumbent will carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to ensure that the Home is maintained in a safe, efficient and functional order.

Job Role

• To carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• To ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the home.
• To supervise outside contractors
• To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• To upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and functional items within the home.
• Expectation for post holder to responds to emergency situations within the home

Candidates Should Have:
