About the role

Reporting to the Senior Fleet Engineering Manager, the role holder will oversee mechanical repairs to our vehicle assets, ensuring a balance between cost and vehicle availability.

The HGV Maintenance Controller reviews repair quotes, negotiates costs, sources parts, and arranges repairs for breakdowns or VOR, liaising with our breakdown service provider on repair locations.

The role provides expert advice on maintenance, supports investigations and repairs, and works with operations, logistics, and repair partners to minimize vehicle downtime. A continuous improvement mindset is essential.

What you will be doing

• Monitor and report on daily VOR, liaising with workshops and repair agents to optimize vehicle uptime.
• Manage workflow through the Tranman vehicle management system, reviewing and approving repair spend.
• Negotiate repair prices with workshops and manufacturers.
• Ensure value for money while returning critical assets to service promptly.
• Identify improvements in preventative maintenance regimes.
