Job summary

Chewton Glen in New Milton, England, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Manager in upholding the hotel’s high standards across all areas. The role covers on-call duties, emergency response, and ensuring appliances and fittings meet Health & Safety regulations.

Experience in hotel maintenance and painting/decorating is desirable; candidates should be able to work independently with attention to detail and a proactive, team‑focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership in responding to emergency maintenance calls from all departments.
• Be confident in ensuring all priority maintenance jobs are completed.
• Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility to respond to changes in priorities on short notice.
• Ensure all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe and compliant with Health & Safety regulations; report faults to Maintenance Manager.
• Be on call on a rota basis if required.
• Understand and execute company policies on privacy, confidentiality and data protection.
