Job summary

Elizabeth College Guernsey is recruiting an Assistant Maintenance Worker to join our Maintenance Team from October 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The role involves assisting with upkeep, repair and improvement of the College estate, undertaking practical tasks and learning basic trades.

The ideal candidate will be personable, proactive and keen to learn, with an interest in developing basic skills in carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience is advantageous but not essential; training and support will be provided.
• Willingness to learn and practical aptitude across trades such as carpentry, painting, plastering and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with upkeep, repair and improvement of the College estate.
• Undertake a wide range of practical tasks and learn basic trades.
• Work as part of the Maintenance Team with flexibility around Saturday mornings.
