Job summary

Veolia in Llanelli is looking for a hands-on maintenance assistant to support general maintenance tasks at Tata Trostre Packaging site. You will assist technicians with setup, lifting, and basic mechanical work in a busy industrial environment.

You’ll keep the site clean, operate MEWPs and forklifts with training provided, and report hazards promptly. A basic mechanical background and safety awareness are key, with training offered to broaden your skills.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical experience is required.
• Health and safety practices knowledge is important (training/qualifications desirable).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in general housekeeping in an industrial environment.
• MEWP or forklift experience; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance technicians with general maintenance tasks, including job set-up, lifting, equipment preparation and basic mechanical work.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across the site, including the effluent plant grounds, vegetation, workshop and other operational areas.
• Operate MEWPs and forklifts to support maintenance activities, following training and safety procedures (training provided).
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, provide updates on tasks and report safety concerns or hazards promptly.
• Work proactively and safely in an industrial environment, using initiative to support site improvements and maintain high health and safety standards.
