Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the on-site maintenance team in student accommodation in Canterbury. The role is a practical, hands-on position to prepare rooms for the new academic intake, working Mon-Fri on a 37.5-hour week at £12.71 per hour for a temporary eight-week assignment.

Duties include general after-move maintenance, basic repairs, fire safety checks, cleaning, rubbish removal, and daily lifting.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience.
• Understanding of safe working practices and building services.
• GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, organised, and willing to undertake training.
