Job summary

Manpower UK Ltd, on behalf of a specialist educational setting in Kent, is hiring an Electrician / Maintenance Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role combines electrical expertise with broader maintenance across a large estate in Sevenoaks.

You will join the Estates & Facilities team to keep buildings, facilities and infrastructure safe, compliant and well-maintained for staff, students and visitors. The position is part-time with duties spanning electrical and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience in electrical installation, testing, and fault diagnosis.
• Good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.
• Practical maintenance skills and willingness to support a variety of site tasks.
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding.
• Support statutory compliance including electrical safety inspections and emergency lighting checks.
• Undertake PAT testing and routine electrical maintenance.
• Complete general maintenance tasks including repairs, decorating, plumbing, and basic carpentry.
• Support fire safety checks, building inspections, and health & safety compliance activities.
• Assist with site events, building upkeep, and seasonal maintenance tasks.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues and support planned maintenance programmes.
