Job summary

Hesketh Park Lodge Care Home is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to keep the home safe, well maintained and comfortable. The role involves hands-on tasks across the building and grounds, basic electrical checks, and prompt responses to issues to support a reliable, well-organised environment.

You will work days, with a contracted 16 hours per week, and benefits include paid DBS, pension and uniform. A proactive, independent worker with a practical approach is ideal.

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times.
• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
• Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.

Hesketh Park Lodge Care Home is a modern, purpose built 79 bed care home in Southport, Merseyside, delivering high quality residential, nursing, dementia and respite care within a supportive, person centred environment.

• £13.39 per hour
• Contracted to 16 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This is a hands on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.

Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
