Job summary

Moss View Care Home in Liverpool is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the home safe, well maintained and comfortable. You will perform a range of tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, electrical checks, installations and upkeep, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.

You will work independently and with the team while following health and safety procedures. We value a proactive, practical approach, reliability and the ability to prioritise workload to maintain

Qualifications

• Prior experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs.
• Perform basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to issues and support planned maintenance.
• Work independently and with the wider team while following health and safety procedures.

About Moss View Care Home
Our 77 bedded home provides residential, nursing and residential dementia care. Located in Huyton, Liverpool, Moss View is a warm and welcoming home with a strong community feel. With a beautiful sensory garden and a friendly, supportive team, it is a great place to build meaningful relationships, work together and make a real difference to Residents every day.

• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This is a hands on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience.
You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
