Job summary

Champneys Springs is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to keep our estates in pristine condition, with a strong focus on painting and decorating to enhance guest spaces.

You'll work with the Maintenance Manager on planned and reactive tasks, across interior and exterior fabric, ensuring safety, functionality and high presentation standards across our properties.

Qualifications

• Strong painting and decorating experience.
• Good all-round maintenance knowledge including basic building, plumbing or electrical work.
• Health & safety awareness and hazard reporting.
• Willingness to take on varied tasks.
• Qualifications (e.g. NVQ/City & Guilds, Health & Safety) desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the property.
• Take ownership of painting, decorating and finishing tasks, ensuring a high-quality standard.
• Assist with planned preventive maintenance programmes to minimise disruption to guests.
• Maintain interior and exterior building fabric, ensuring spaces are safe, functional and visually appealing.
• Support general repairs across plumbing, basic electrical, and building works.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times, including fire safety awareness and hazard reporting.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on and versatile Maintenance Assistant with strong painting and decorating skills to join our team. This is a key role supporting the upkeep and presentation of our properties-ensuring all buildings, facilities and guest areas are maintained to the highest possible standard, both functionally and visually. You'll work closely with the Maintenance Manager, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance, with a particular focus on maintaining the look and feel of our beautiful estates.

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the property.

• Complete required training and support wider team activities as needed
• Strong painting and decorating experience (essential).

• A team player with good communication skills
