Job summary

Moore Green Recruitment LTD is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a retirement village in High Wycombe. You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, tests, and coordinate access for contractors.

Duties include handyman tasks for residents and recording repairs, while working with on-site teams to improve knowledge of building systems. The role is a contract, on-site position with pay of £16–£18 per hour.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, BTECs and NVQs are useful.
• Health and safety, plumbing, plastering, carpentry courses are useful.
• Experience in maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out user tests, cyclical, preventive and repairs maintenance.
• Arrange access for contractors to carry out maintenance.
• Provide handy-person services for residents, e.g., hanging pictures and assembling flat pack furniture.
• Undertake preventive maintenance in apartments and communal areas.
• Be proactive in managing void properties and water quality checks.
• Record repair requests and defects.

• Maintenance Assistant required to work at retirement village in High Wycombe.
• To carry out user tests, cyclical, preventive and repairs maintenance, and arrange access for contractors to carry out maintenance.
• Carry out a handy-person service for the residents, as directed by the Cluster manager. Anything from picture hanging to assembling flat pack furniture.
• Undertake preventive maintenance duties in the resident’s apartments and in the communal areas
• Be proactive in the management of void properties, ensure water quality checks and general repairs are undertaken.
• Work with contractors on site to improve own knowledge of systems and to ensure that they are working to risk assessments provided.
• Record repair requests and defects.
• Qualifications that will help candidates are City & Guilds, BTECs, and NVQs. Courses in health and safety, plumbing, plastering, carpentry, and general maintenance are all very useful.
