Maintenance Assistant - Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, reliable, and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant capable of working well under pressure to perform planned maintenance and daily repairs within a hospital environment.

The postholder will assist skilled tradespeople when needed and work as part of a team on coordinated projects.

Main duties of the job

1. Ensure the hospital's fabric is maintained as a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
2. Undertake supervised and unsupervised maintenance and repair work to develop skills and knowledge continually.
3. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications & Training

• NVQ Level 3 or relevant recognized competency at this level
• Trained in Health & Safety Awareness
• First Aid certification
• P.A.T. Testing Qualification or willingness to undertake
• Personal Safety training
• Confined spaces awareness

Knowledge & Skills

• Customer care awareness
• Ability to contribute effectively in a team
• Capability to undertake other duties within areas of competence, checked against core competencies in PADR
• Proficiency in Welsh is desirable

Experience

• Experience in general building services
• Relevant work experience in building services engineering
