Point A Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Harrow. This full-time role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance to keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces safe, functional and guest-ready.

You'll perform routine inspections, respond to maintenance requests with a proactive, cost-conscious approach, and work with Front Desk and Housekeeping to minimise disruption while upholding high standards of health and safety.

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for a dependable and proactive maintenance professional who takes pride in creating a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues, bringing heartfelt hospitality into every interaction. You'll bring hands-on experience in general maintenance within a guest-focused setting, along with a practical, solutions-driven approach to identifying issues, completing repairs and supporting preventative maintenance programmes.

With a keen eye for detail and high standards, you'll take ownership of keeping guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces well maintained and presentation ready. You are organised and adaptable, able to prioritise tasks effectively, respond promptly to maintenance requests and communicate clearly with Front Desk, Housekeeping and Management teams.

More About The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will help keep the hotel safe, functional, and well presented for our guests and team members. You will support both planned and reactive maintenance activity, working closely with operational teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain high standards across the property.

• Work closely with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to respond to maintenance requests and minimise disruption to guests.
• Use the hotel’s planned maintenance and compliance platform to record tasks, checks, and completed works accurately.
• Prioritise daily workload effectively, balancing urgent repairs with planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment for guests, visitors, contractors, and team members.

Examples of tasks and duties include:

• Cleaning and maintaining air-conditioning filters.
• Descaling showers, taps, and other bathroom fittings.
• Carrying out silicone and grouting repairs where required.
• Completing like-for-like electrical repairs in line with training and safety requirements.
• Supporting basic plumbing tasks, including sink taps, mixers, traps, and minor repairs.
• Completing water temperature checks and recording results accurately.
• Carrying out daily building compliance checks.
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Completing reactive repairs raised by guests, Housekeeping, Front Desk, or management teams.
• Receiving, checking, and safely storing maintenance deliveries and supplies.
• Supporting contractor sign-in, permit-to-work processes, and safe working practices on site.

Training to be undertaken:

• Saeker like-for-like electrical certificate.
• Legionella awareness training.
• First aid training.
• Health and safety training.
