Job summary

Manor Grange Care Home is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to keep the home safe and well maintained. You will undertake a range of tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs and basic electrical checks, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.

You will work independently and with the team, following health and safety procedures and supporting planned maintenance in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds.
• Perform repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to issues and support planned maintenance.
• Work independently and with the wider team following health and safety procedures.

Manor Grange Care Home is a purpose built 83 bed care home located in the Pinkhill area of Edinburgh, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative care. The home offers a well established and supportive environment where team members can deliver high quality, person centred care as part of a professional and dedicated team.

Maintenance Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This is a hands on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.

Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
