Job summary

Kew Green Hotels is seeking a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to help upkeep our hotel, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are safe, well maintained and fully operational. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will assist with both preventative and reactive tasks, contributing to a high-quality guest experience.

You will perform a range of maintenance tasks, respond to issues promptly, and support safety checks while coordinating with other departments to keep hotel

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance or hands-on role or willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, decorating or repairs.
• Proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and minor electrical work.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes to keep equipment and facilities in good order.
• Conduct regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing and compliance checks.
• Identify and escalate safety risks or defects promptly.
• Work collaboratively with all departments to support smooth hotel operations.

Job description

We're looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our hotel. You'll play a key role behind the scenes, ensuring everything from guest rooms to public areas is well maintained, safe and fully operational.
