Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking an operator in the United Kingdom to run production equipment in a fast-paced environment, adhering to customer specifications and plant requirements.

You will inspect in-process outputs, input data, and use computer systems to ensure product conformity while upholding safety and quality standards. NVQ Level 3 and at least two years' experience are required to join Ball's world-leading aluminium packaging team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in engineering or printing is mandatory.
• Minimum of two years' relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is mandatory.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of offset printing.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use computer systems.

Job description

• Perform routine manual and mechanical production activities required to operate production equipment in line with customer specifications and plant production requirements.
• Conduct in-process can inspections, input and analyze production data, and use computer systems to help identify and control product conformity in accordance with plant quality standards.
• Perform maintenance on production equipment as required, including equipment adjustments and mechanical repairs, while supplying and maintaining the hand tools needed for the role.
• Follow established job safety practices, plant and corporate procedures, food safety requirements, and standard operating procedures applicable to the area of responsibility.
• Maintain safe and orderly working conditions through good housekeeping practices and compliance with environmental requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste segregation.
• Rotate among designated operator assignments within the department when required and provide operational cover for operator breaks to support continuity of production. NVQ Level 3 qualification in an engineering or printing discipline (mandatory)
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (mandatory)
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, combined with an interest in and aptitude for mechanics.
• Knowledge of offset printing.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use computer systems effectively.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to results in a demanding manufacturing environment.
