Job summary

NTT DATA in the UK is seeking a Test Planning Lead for a mainframe product migration, operating on a hybrid model (Sheffield or London + remote). You will own end-to-end test planning across SIT, UAT, and migration testing with risk-based approaches and audit-ready artefacts.

You will coordinate multiple delivery teams, vendors and business SMEs, define test strategy and master plan, manage data, environments and reporting, and drive governance to ensure smooth cutovers.

Qualifications

• Proven test planning leadership on mainframe migrations (z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Batch/JCL).
• Experience building risk-based test approaches with programme-scale governance.
• Strong stakeholder management across delivery teams and vendors.
• Familiarity with test data, environments and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall test strategy and master test plan.
• Build and manage an integrated test schedule aligned to milestones and cutover plans.
• Lead risk-based test planning with clear traceability to requirements and migration risks.
• Coordinate SIT, System/Integration, Regression, UAT support, Performance/Volume testing.
• Define and govern test data approach and environment readiness.
• Establish defect triage cadence, severity model, and quality gates.
