Job summary

VIQU is recruiting a Mainframe Developer to join a leading UK organisation in Pontefract with hybrid working. You will develop and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders.

You will work with COBOL, CICS, JCL and IBM DB2, deliver development work from requirements through testing and deployment, and provide ongoing support for critical systems, including out-of-hours coverage where required.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2.
• Proven experience delivering mainframe solutions in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience providing application support in critical environments.
• SQL, Azure DevOps, Natural/ADABAS or zOS Connect would be advantageous.

You’ll develop and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders.
