Job summary

• Strong commercial experience with mainframe technologies (COBOL, CICS, JCL) and DB2.
• Experience delivering mainframe solutions in a production environment.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

You'll develop and maintain mission‑critical mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities of the Mainframe Developer

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2
• Deliver development work from requirements through to testing and deployment
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on projects and improvements
• Support and troubleshoot existing mainframe applications
• Provide user support and participate in out‑of‑hours cover

Key Experience Required of the Mainframe Developer

• Strong commercial experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2
• Proven experience delivering mainframe solutions in a production environment
