Job summary

VIQU IT is partnering with a leading UK organisation to recruit a Mainframe Developer in Pontefract. Hybrid- remote-friendly setup with a salary between £42,000 and £55,000.

You will develop and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders. The role emphasizes delivering development work from requirements through testing and deployment, translating business needs into technical solutions, and

Qualifications

• Experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL or IBM DB2 in production environments.
• Demonstrated full SDLC experience from requirements to deployment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mainframe applications across the full development lifecycle.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on projects and improvements.
• Provide user support and participate in out-of-hours cover when needed.
• Support and troubleshoot existing mainframe applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across development processes.
