Job summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies in Manchester is seeking a Magnesium Operative to join our foundry team. This hands-on production role focuses on magnesium melting, casting, preparation and material movement within a demanding, safety‑driven environment.

You will support other magnesium production areas as required, work a nominal 24/5 shift pattern and may be on fixed-term or permanent basis. Benefits include a competitive base salary, a 14% bonus, on-site facilities and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, foundry or heavy industrial environment.
• Foundry, molten material, melting or furnace experience is advantageous.
• FLT licence is essential; pendant crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out magnesium foundry activities safely and according to procedures and risk assessments.
• Support melting, casting, charging, preparation and material movement per production plan.
• Provide flexible support across other magnesium production areas as required.
• Use FLT equipment safely to support material movements; pendant crane experience is preferred.
• Operate foundry equipment and maintain safe, reliable output; complete production records.
• Work with Team Leaders, Foundry, Quality and HSE to ensure safe operations.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and area ownership.
