Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to join the Macmillan therapy team as a static Band 6 Physiotherapist within the Therapy department at Northampton General Hospital, part of the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire.

Do you have a special interest in working within cancer care? Do you have the skills and experience to work with the often complex medical, physical, and psychological needs of those living with cancer?

This role will help you develop specialist clinical skills working within the Macmillan therapy team, as well as allowing you the opportunity to be involved in staff development, audit, and service improvement.

We welcome applicants looking to further develop their Band 6 skills within this specialist area.

As a Band 6 clinician within a joint therapy service, you will be required to deliver a quality Therapy Service working closely with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team. You need to have an enthusiastic attitude, be forward-thinking, and have a problem-solving approach to patient management. The ability to work within a fast-paced and pressured environment is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to support other team members.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of therapy assessment, intervention, discharge planning of patients with complex diagnoses, and supporting goals to maintain dignity and quality of life. You will also work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a patient-centred service, identifying patient needs to facilitate safe and timely discharge from hospital.

As a Band 6, various training and development opportunities are available, including protected time for CPD and access to Macmillan resources to ensure you are equipped with the competence and confidence required for this post.

Robust peer support from fellow Band 6s is encouraged, with regular individual and team supervisions held monthly. You will have the opportunity to supervise staff, providing clinical support and guidance.

Please submit your application as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to close any adverts before the closing date once sufficient applications are received.
