Job summary

Orion Electrotech in the Telford area is seeking a Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team. Prior machining or machine operating experience is preferred, with training available for the right candidate.

CNC experience is helpful but not required, and a strong eye for detail is essential. The role offers daily and night shifts, a competitive hourly rate of £15.60, full-time permanent employment, ongoing development opportunities, and a supportive working environment designed to build CNC

Qualifications

About the Role

A well-established and growing manufacturing business in the Telford area is looking to recruit a Machinist to join its busy production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous machining, machine operating, or manufacturing experience who is looking to develop their skills within a professional engineering environment. CNC experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a range of manufacturing and production machinery
• Setting and running machinery to meet production targets
• Monitoring product quality throughout the manufacturing process
• Reading and following engineering drawings and work instructions
• Carrying out basic machine adjustments when required
• Conducting quality inspections on finished components
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area
• Following all health and safety procedures

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Machinist, Machine Operator, or within a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating industrial machinery
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work from engineering drawings is beneficialPositive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• CNC experience is advantageous but not essential
