The Role

We are seeking a skilled Wood Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis (flexibility may be available for job-sharing for the right applicant). This hands-on role involves machining timber using specialist machinery, as well as setting up and operating machines safely.

You will be working in a rural, workshop-based environment, where attention to detail, precision and teamwork are essential. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established family business, producing high-quality products that meet tight deadlines and high customer expectations.

• Location:East Hanningfield, Essex (Own transport needed!)
• Job Type:Full-Time (Option for job-sharing may be available)
• Salary: £17.00-£18.50 p/hr , DOE and Attendance Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Operate fixed woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
• Set up machines and follow drawings and cutting lists
• Produce high-quality, accurate, and timely work to meet deadlines
• Minimise material waste and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
• Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets specifications
• Assist with manual handling, stock preparation, and packing materials
• Complete all required paperwork accurately

Experience & Skills Required

• Proven experience with woodworking machinery and tools
• Ability to read and interpret cutting lists and drawings
• Keen eye for detail and a focus on accuracy and quality
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
