Job summary

Holroyd Precision Ltd, a UK-based manufacturer of high-precision grinding and rotor milling machines, is hiring a Time-served Mechanical Fitter to join a team building multi-axis systems.

You will assemble complex assemblies from detailed drawings, align components to tolerances under 10 microns, and travel internationally to install machines as trained. The role offers a 4-day week, a competitive salary, and a pension with travel opportunities after training.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical fitter with apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience with precision engineering and machine assembly.
• Skilled in using measuring tools and working to tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings and gears.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex, multi-axis precision machines from detailed drawings.
• Align subsystems and components to achieve tolerances below 10 microns.
• Inspect, test and verify assemblies before handover to installation teams.
• Assist with on-site installation and commissioning as trained.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll build complex, multi-axis precision machines from the ground up. Working from detailed drawings and schematics, you'll assemble sub-components, align systems, and ensure tolerances of less than 10 microns.

Once trained, you'll have the opportunity to travel internationally as part of our installation team.

What We're Looking For

• Time-served mechanical fitter (apprentice trained preferred)
• Experience with precision engineering and machine assembly
• Skilled in using measuring tools and working to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and gears
• Flexibility and willingness to travel

Hours: 38, 4-day week (Mon–Thu)
