Job summary

Precision People is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter for the machine tool building industry in Leicester (LE8). You will assemble a wide range of CNC machine tools and ensure alignment to exact tolerances.

The role offers day shifts with an early finish on Fridays, a base salary up to £45k with OTE up to £55k, monthly bonuses, overtime, and pension. You will join a hands-on team with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in fitting and commissioning machine tools.
• Strong ability to align complex mechanical systems to tight tolerances.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and delivering quality results.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with reliable communication.

Responsibilities

• Assemble CNC machine tools to high quality standards.
• Align 5-axis machines to tight tolerances.
• Utilise Renishaw and autocollimators for precision.
• Operate DTI tools and perform ball screw/linear rail alignments.
• Assist with basic machine control commissioning.
• Day shifts with Friday early finish.

• High-quality assembly of a wide variety of CNC machine tools
• Aligning 5-axis CNC machines to tight tolerances
• Utilising advanced tools like Renishaw and autocollimators
• Using DTI's (Dial Test Indicator's)
• Conducting ball screw and linear rail alignments
• Basic machine control commissioning
• Day Shifts, Early Finish Friday

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in machine tool fitting and commissioning
• Strong understanding and experience of complex mechanical alignments
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high standards
