Join an established engineering manufacturer supplying advanced industrial equipment to customers across a range of global markets. We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Machine Fitter to join a growing engineering team responsible for the assembly, installation and support of complex machinery.
Multi-Skilled Machine Fitter Responsibilities
- Build and assemble complex machinery from engineering and assembly drawings.
- Carry out precision fitting work, working to tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Install and assemble bearings, shafts, drive systems and mechanical components.
- Perform drilling, tapping and general workshop fitting activities.
- Install pneumatic and hydraulic components and support testing activities.
- Install machine pipework, cabling and associated equipment.
- Assist with the installation of sensors, switches, motors and electrical components.
- Operate a range of workshop equipment and machine tools safely and effectively.
- Support machinery installation, commissioning and service activities when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
Multi-Skilled Machine Fitter Requirements
- Previous experience in machine building, machinery assembly, fitting or a similar engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience working with precision mechanical assemblies.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Flexible approach and willingness to support customer site activities when required.
- Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.
Multi-Skilled Machine Fitter Benefits
- £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm.
- Friday: 7:30am-3:00pm.
