We have a new opportunity to be part of our Metallic Manufacturing team in the role of Machine Shop Manager.

As a Machine Shop Manager, you will lead a high-performing team across multiple shifts to ensure our machine shop runs efficiently, producing precision components on time and to the highest standards. You’ll play a key role in process improvement, team development, and driving operational excellence—making a direct contribution to the Team’s objective of consistently being a top team in the FIA Formula One Constructors’ Championship.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing processes and procedures to deliver continuous improvements in quality, lead time, and cost.
  • Leading and managing a multifunctional team to meet production, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Overseeing scheduling, resource planning, and effective machine, tooling, and personnel allocation.
  • Collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Supporting make vs. buy analysis and ensuring cost-effective delivery of business-critical components.
  • Motivating and developing machinists, programmers, and technicians through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
  • Driving a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
  • Ensuring all components meet precision and quality standards.
  • Leading lean initiatives to enhance machine utilisation, reduce lead times, and extend tool life.
  • Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing corrective actions where needed.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive background in CNC machining, ideally within motorsport, aerospace, or high-performance engineering.
  • Strong understanding of 5-axis CNC machining, tooling strategies, and CAD/CAM programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other optimisation methodologies.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Effective and respectful communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Clear commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.

Embark on a journey with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team to reshape history at our cutting-edge, sustainable campus in Northamptonshire. Plus, you can look forward to an on-site gym with fitness, spin, and yoga classes, as well as a new restaurant offering indoor and outdoor dining.
