Machine Setter / Operator

Early Shift Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 14:00 (30-minute paid break)
Friday, 06:00 to 12:00 (30-minute paid break)

Location:Cheltenham, UK (On-site)

Role Overview:

The post-holder will set and operate CNC lathes.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

  • Setting computer numerically controlled lathes (CNC)
  • Producing parts to drawing, deburring, cleaning and packaging to set procedures
  • Ensuring excellent quality through thee inspection of parts using measuring equipment such as gauges, verniers and micrometres
  • Understanding and complying with Company Environmental, health & Safety (EHS) practices, identifying areas for improvement and supporting related initiatives
  • Working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), production rates, workplace organisation, front line operator asset care (FLOAC), maintenance and cleanliness of machine equipment

Your previous experience is likely to include….

  • Basic CNC setting and operating experience
  • Basic experience with measuring equipment
  • Working within a production environment

To be successful in this role you will…

  • Have basic engineering drawing competency and programme reading skills
  • Hold NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Manufacturing, or be qualified by experience
  • Demonstrate Company Core Values at all times
  • Be able to work to daily plans and tasks using numeracy and literacy skills
  • Follow instructions accurately, maintaining high levels of quality through excellent attention to detail
