Job summary

Walker’s Shortbread Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Machine Setter for its Aberlour site on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves being present for first runs, setting machinery to packing plan specifications, and maintaining hygiene through scheduled cleaning.

The ideal candidate has experience in a food production environment and is a reliable team player capable of working under pressure. Onsite training will be provided to develop the necessary skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food production environment preferred; onsite training provided.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production priorities.

Responsibilities

• Be present for first runs, ensure machinery is switched on and operational, and maintained for use.
• Identify priorities from the packing plan and set machinery and line components to specifications.
• Carry out cleaning per the cleaning schedule to maintain high hygiene standards.

About The Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Trainee Machine Setter to join our Aberlour team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be present for first runs and to ensure that machinery is switched on and operational and maintained for use.
• To identify the priorities from the Packing plan and set the machinery and line components to specific specifications.
• Carry out cleaning as per cleaning schedule to maintain high hygiene standards.

Skills Required:

• The ideal candidate will have experience within a food production environment, however, onsite training will be provided.
• Team player.
• Good eye for detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools.
• Work well as part of a team and individually.
• Proactive and physically fit.

Weekly Hours :

2 week rolling shift pattern, 38 hours per week.

Dayshift: 05:00 - 13:30 (M-Th)/05:00-11:30 (F)

Backshift: 12:00 - 20:30 (M-Th)/12:00-18:30 (F)
