Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Machine Operator (Progression to Junior Service Engineer) on a regional patch. Initial training with shadowing, then field-based maintenance across sites, mainly within a 2-hour radius, with some overnight stays.

You will progress towards becoming an engineer with supported courses at head office and a clear career path within the business. A van is provided for work and personal use, with bonuses and a strong work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator or similar.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Receive training at head office and shadowing experienced engineers.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance on CNC Milling Machines.
• Cover sites across a regional patch (usually within 2 hours, some overnight stays).
• Operate mostly autonomously while supporting other engineers.
• Follow clear progression plans across the business.
