Job summary

Essential Recruitment is seeking a Machine Operator in Heanor to join a European leader in the recycling and plastics industry. Training will be provided, with potential for permanent employment. The role offers a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and immediate start.

Shifts are 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am with a starting hourly rate of £13.25, rising to £14.65 after 12 weeks. Applications welcome from candidates with Manufacturing/Production Operator backgrounds from Heanor, Codnor or Ilkeston areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative or Machine Operator
• Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative
• Positive attitude towards health and safety and training

Responsibilities

• Identify and report machine defects/problems to the Team Leader/Production Manager
• Operate machinery and related equipment
• Place finished goods onto pallets and assist with packing
• Ensure PPE is worn at all times
• Operate first line maintenance on machinery where required
• Keep department clean and maintain good housekeeping
• Operate conveyors and metal detectors in appropriate departments
• Complete associated paperwork
• Manual handling where required

Machine Operator, Heanor

We are looking for enthusiastic Machine Operators to join a European leader in the recycling and plastics industry, with opportunity to gain permanent employment. Enjoy 4 days off together with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern!

Training will be provided, however we are keen to speak with candidates with a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative or Machine Operator background.

Working Hours;

• Rotational shift pattern 4 on (2 days and 2 nights 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am) 4 off

Hourly Rate;

• £13.25ph – increasing to £14.65ph after 12 weeks

Duties & Responsibilities of a Machine Operator;

• Identify and report any machine defects/problems to the Team Leader/Production Manager
• Operating machinery and any other equipment
• Placing finished good onto pallets at high frequency and assisting with packing products
• Ensuring PPE is worn at all times
• Operating first line maintenance on machinery where required
• General housekeeping within departments and ensuring a good level is maintained
• Operation of conveyer belts and metal detectors (in certain departments)
• Completion of associated paperwork
• Manual handling where required

Experience/Skills Required for this Machine Operator position;

• Experience of working within a manufacturing environmentas a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, Machine Operator or similar
• Ability to work unsupervised and be able to use own initiative
• Positive attitude towards health and safety and training
