Job description

Assembly Operatives & Machine Operators

Crewkerne, Somerset

Temporary ongoing positions

£16.36 per hour including shift premium

WF Tech are recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturing business in Crewkerne who are looking to bring two temporary members of staff into their machine shop to support the existing team.

These are initially temporary assignments and are not expected to be long-term positions, although this could change depending on business requirements and individual performance.

We are looking for reliable, motivated people who are comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Previous CNC experience is not required – only basic manufacturing or machine shop experience is needed.

The Role

As part of the machine shop team, you'll support the production process by carrying out basic manufacturing and machine operating duties.

Typical duties may include:

  • Operating production and manufacturing machinery

  • Supporting machine shop activities

  • Carrying out basic quality checks

  • Following work instructions and basic health & safety procedures

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

  • Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn than extensive CNC experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Some experience working within a manufacturing, factory or engineering environment

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Good attention to detail

  • The ability to follow instructions

  • An understanding of basic health & safety

  • Good timekeeping and reliability

  • A strong team ethic

CNC experience is not essential. Basic machine shop or manufacturing experience is sufficient, and full details of the requirements can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Hours & Shift Pattern

The working pattern is:

  • 06:00 – 14:00 Monday - Friday

  • 14:00 – 00:00 Monday - Thursday

If suitable candidates cannot be found who are willing to work the shift pattern, the company is able to consider a day shift alternative, although the shift premium would not apply.

What's On Offer
  • £13.09 per hour basic rate

  • 25% shift premium when working the Double Day Shift

  • Monday–Thursday working pattern with Friday off

  • Temporary assignment with the potential for the position to develop depending on business requirements

  • Opportunity to gain further manufacturing and machine shop experience

  • Supportive working environment within a global engineering business

If you're reliable, practical and looking for a temporary manufacturing opportunity in the Crewkerne area, we'd love to hear from you.
