Job summary

Pertemps Northampton is seeking a Nightshift Manufacturing Operative in Desborough, Northamptonshire. You will set up and operate production machinery, feed materials, monitor quality and complete shift records to help meet daily targets.

The role requires reliability, the ability to work a fixed night shift pattern, and physical fitness to stand for extended periods. Drug and alcohol testing may be conducted during induction as part of compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor production machinery per SOPs.
• Feed materials and monitor processes to meet daily output targets.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and report defects.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Report faults to Shift Supervisor promptly.
• Complete production records and handover information.

Nightshift Manufacturing Operative

Location: Desborough, Northamptonshire

Shift Pattern: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Monday Night to Saturday Morning

Pay Rate: £14.66 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Nightshift Manufacturing Operative to join our client's production team in Desborough. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of manufactured products within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery and equipment in line with standard operating procedures.
• Feed materials into machines and monitor production processes to achieve daily output targets.
• Carry out regular quality inspections to identify and report defects, ensuring products meet required standard​s.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.
• Report machinery faults, breakdowns, or operational issues to the Shift Supervisor promptly.
• Complete production records, quality documentation, and shift handover information accurately.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, machine operating, or machine minding environment is highly desirable.
• Ability to work a fixed night shift pattern consistently.
• Strong work ethic with excellent reliability and punctuality.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and undertake manual handling duties.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
