Job summary

DS Smith is seeking an experienced Production/Machine Operative for our Louth site. Roles involve operating and maintaining production machinery, ensuring hygiene and product quality, and adhering to safety standards across rotating shifts.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in manufacturing, good communication, and the ability to work in a team. On-site role with opportunities for progression and safety training. OT is offered with premium rates.

Are you based in or around Louth?

We have a Machine Operative role available within DS Smiths Louth site. DS Smith are an international packaging company that focuses on sustainable and plastic free packaging. The successful applicant will be someone with previous experience within a Manufacturing environment and considers themselves to be proactive, reliable and a team player.

Role:

Machine Operative x3

Location:

Louth, Grimsby Road, LN11 0LA

Rate:

* OT is paid at 1.5x (£20.72) 6pm friday to 6am monday. Any other OT is paid at 1.33x (£18.37).

x1 role - shifts X2 days, X2 nights and X4 off, Days are 06:00-18:00 and nights are 18:00-06:00 (42 hours per week, paid breaks)

x2 roles - shifts Monday-Thursday 7.30am - 4pm and Friday 8am -4pm

Start:

ASAP (within one week)

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain production machinery
• Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards, adhering to BRC regulations
• Monitor product quality to meet high standards
• Follow maintenance schedules and report issues through the internal SAP system
• Complete training and safety awareness documents
• Ensure health & safety protocols are followed at all times
• Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment (2+ years)
• Ability to work to all elements of the shift pattern
• Able to be on foot for long periods of time and conduct manual handling including lifting and bending
• Good verbal and written communication
• Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
