Job summary

Humdinger in Heckington is seeking a Machine Minder to operate and maintain VFFS bagging machines and multi-head weighers on a lasting, full-time basis.

The role involves maintaining production quality, troubleshooting simple mechanical issues and supporting continuous improvement, with training provided to progress to Level 3 Machine Minder. An excellent benefits package includes pension and life assurance, plus generous leave.

Qualifications

Machine Minder (Double Day Shift)

Humdinger, Heckington

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing food production team where you'll receive tailored 1-to-1 training and build a clear progression pathway within the business.

Shift Pattern Monday - Friday, 0600 - 1400, 1400 - 2200 (Rotating Weekly)

Pay range

• Grade 1 £13.75 (Starting rate)
• Grade 2 £14.87
• Grade 3 £16.06

Breaks 2 x paid 20 minute breaks per shift

Closing date 25/09/2026

• Operate and maintain Vertical Form Fill & Sea (VFFS) bagging machines and multi-head weighing/dispensing machines to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Ensure products meet quality standards every time.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and work with Engineering for repairs when needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance.
• Follow strict hygiene and safety practices (GHP/GMP).
• Accurately record downtime, losses, and operational issues.
• Direct experience operating VFFS bagging machines and multi-head weighing/dispensing machinery in an FMCG factory setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of check weighers & X-Ray machines
• Earning potential of up to £16.06 per hour (Level 3 Machine Minder) with training.
• Paid breaks and overtime rates at time and a half of basic rate and double time on Sundays and bank holidays
• 25 days + bank holidays annual leave.
