Job summary

Aureol Global Connections seeks a skilled Machine Driver to operate heavy plant on civil engineering sites, carrying out excavation, loading, grading and material handling with safety and efficiency. You will perform pre-start inspections, document inspections, and follow site plans and supervisor instructions.

The role requires valid plant operator certification, a strong safety focus, and the ability to work both independently and within a site team on construction and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy construction plant and machinery.
• Valid plant operator certification or licence relevant to the equipment being operated.
• Good understanding of safe operating procedures for construction equipment.
• Experience working on construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Ability to read site plans and follow technical instructions.
• Good awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
• Operate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, loading shovels, telehandlers, rollers, and other plant machinery as required.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, loading, lifting, and site clearance works.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine safety checks on machinery.
• Report defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Perform basic routine maintenance, including checking fluid levels, lubricating components, and cleaning equipment.
• Follow site plans, engineering drawings, and supervisor instructions.
• Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transportation of materials.
• Work closely with groundworkers, site supervisors, and other construction personnel.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate equipment inspection records and daily activity logs.
• Keep machinery clean and in good working condition.
• Assist with general site duties when machinery is not in use.
